Downsize=no longer has swelling, redness, or tender to touch with 1-2 mm space between ear and flat back. Typically 6-8 weeks for ear cartilage and nose, 8-12 weeks for lobes. Doing so will prevent irritation bumps, snagging, and angle changes for proper full healing. Upsize=if swelling persists with redness, fluid/pus after two weeks from initial piercing with no space between ear and flat back, consider this or make an appt with your primary doctor if you expect infection.
